There is something special about a Saturday afternoon in the Brazos Valley, especially when it involves celebrating the men who raised us right! This Father’s Day weekend, we opened the doors for our Boots & Bourbon event, and it was an afternoon we won’t forget.
Instead of a rushed holiday weekend, our community used the afternoon to slow down and enjoy the good stuff. Our store was filled with the hum of live acoustic music by Zachary Burnett, the sweet aroma of gin and bourbon tastings from Hush and Whisper Distillery, snacks from our friends at the Board Room, beverages from Boots Beverages, and the sounds of chatter from friends and family. It was the perfect backdrop for fathers, sons, and families to catch up, share a few laughs, savor a quality glass of Texas-made liquors, and browse the shop together.
In the center of the store, we set up a live branding bar that ended up being a huge hit! We had leather koozies, coasters, and keychains ready to go, and everyone got to customize their own with different letters and symbols. It gave everyone a little piece of the weekend to take home and throw on their keys or use with their favorite beer.
Over by the boot wall, things felt just as easygoing. We got to watch dads helping their sons pick out a first pair of Tecovas, and old-school boot guys pointing out classic stitch patterns to their daughters. It’s always a good reminder that a solid pair of boots isn’t just something you wear, it’s something you break in over a lifetime of hard work and good stories.
We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who made the trip out to Suite 130, our neighbors at Lake Walk, and the incredible local vendors who brought the day to life. Seeing our community show up to support us and celebrate the family is exactly why we started 6Whiskey. If you missed this one, don't worry.
